Choose How You Learn: Online or In-Person

Online

You can complete the education components of the CPA Professional Program online, through one of three partner universities. The accreditation approval process is anticipated to be completed in the fall.

• University of Toronto – Rotman School of Management
• University of Waterloo – School of Accounting and Finance
• Western University – Ivey School of Business

You will complete the educational components through one partner university. All partner universities will provide a self-paced learning experience shaped by shared academic standards with education delivered in an asynchronous, modular format.

The first online module offerings begin in 2027:

• Foundational Development: May 31, 2027
• CPA Core – Licensure: May 31, 2027
• CPA Core – Common: July 12, 2027
• CPA Leadership: June 28, 2027

In-Person

You can also complete the education components of the CPA Professional Program in-person through several accredited PSI partners across Ontario. This option offers a traditional classroom experience with a structured, course-based approach that leads to a master’s degree and/or a graduate diploma.

Program Structure

Here’s how you’ll move through the online and in-person* education components of the new CPA Professional Program delivered by accredited PSIs:

• Foundational Development (14 weeks)
• CPA Core – Common (8 weeks)
• CPA Core – Licensure (14 weeks)
• CPA Leadership (10 weeks)

Delivered by CPA Ontario:

• CPA Professional Readiness, a five-day, in-person module

The first Professional Readiness module takes place in winter 2028.

Both online and in-person offerings include ongoing assessments designed to help you build and demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to progress through the program and become a CPA. To move from the education module to the related CPA professional examination, you must first successfully pass the module by meeting the established passing requirements.
