Council seeks candidates to support strategic goals

A letter to CPA Ontario members from Tony Pedari, Chair of Council, and Daniela Carcasole, Chair of the Governance & Nominating Committee:

We are pleased to announce that nominations to CPA Ontario’s Council are now open, with four seats up for election this year. Members in good standing who would like to contribute to Council and the effective governance of the profession in Ontario are encouraged to consider running for election.

CPA Ontario’s Council is committed to ensuring CPA Ontario delivers on its mandate to protect the public, advance the profession, and ensure CPAs lead business and society forward. This year Council has identified five priority skills, attributes and experiences that will complement its existing skill set and help guide the strategic direction of the organization: Strategic and Transformational Leadership; Emerging Technologies (with an emphasis on AI); Future of Learning and Work; Business Acumen; and Governance (with an emphasis on Change Management).

CPA Ontario is committed to strengthening the profession with a diverse Council, recognizing that lasting change can only happen if we continue to take action to address systemic barriers and create opportunities for equity-deserving groups. As such, we encourage Council nominations for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, racialized, women, 2SLGBTQ+ and/or a person with a disability.

Please note that the nomination process closes at 5 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024 and that the Annual General Meeting of the Members will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024.

As we begin the 2024 CPA Ontario Council election process, we want to take this opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of all our current Council members and thank our members for placing their trust in us.
