Welcome to CPA Ontario
This is an exciting time for the accounting profession – not only in Ontario, but throughout Canada. Our nation’s accounting professionals - CAs, CGAs and CMAs - are unifying as one single, strong profession under the banner of Chartered Professional Accountants. In Ontario, all of our members carry a CPA in addition to their legacy designation.
The Tax Preparation Assistance Program operates in conjunction with a variety of agencies across the province including food banks, charities, hospitals, seniors’ centres, community centres, social service agencies and libraries. The agencies co-sponsor the sessions on a volunteer basis. Locate a session and book an appointment by clicking on the link above.
Join your fellow CPAs and give back by preparing tax returns for people who need assistance in our community. Together we can help thousands of individuals who truly need our help receiving tax refunds and credits that are only available by filing an income tax return.
In the November/December 2014 edition we introduce Council Chair, Michael Banks; discuss Burger King’s takeover of Tim Hortons; look at research into textual analysis; explore new OECD rules on transfer pricing, and introduce a new business book review section.
CPA Ontario is launching a new mentorship program as a mandatory component of the CPA practical experience requirements. Now is your time to get involved!
This section contains information on the CPA Certification Program, including FAQs and webinars. The CPA Practical Experience Requirements have now been published. New resources, including videos, updated FAQs and fact sheets, are now available.
The use of your CPA designation in conjunction with your legacy CA, legacy CMA or legacy CGA designation is mandatory. For detailed information, please refer to Guidance on the Use of the CPA Designation in Ontario.
