Preparatory Enrolment and Fees

Preparatory courses are designed for students that require prerequisite courses for admission to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP).

You must complete a transcript assessment and be approved for student registration before you can enrol in the preparatory courses.

If you are ready to enrol, log in to My Portal and select Manage My Journey.

You will also need to pay Annual Student Dues (ASD).

An examination rewrite is $200 and a review of the examination result is $100.

Withdrawals and refunds

You can withdraw from a preparatory course or examination by logging in to My Portal and selecting Manage My Journey ► Actions next to the course you want to withdraw from ► Withdraw.

Students are subject to the following policies for all preparatory courses and examinations:

  • Non-core courses are non-refundable after the release of materials to you on the online learning platform Brightspace (D2L).
  • Core courses are subject to the refund schedule which lays out the amount refunded by week.
  • Examination fees will have an 80 per cent refund if the withdrawal is more than 14 days before the examination date. Any examination withdrawals within 14 days of the examination date are non-refundable.

Once withdrawn from a course and a refund has been approved and submitted for processing, it will take four to eight weeks to receive a refund. Please refer to the CPA Preparatory Course Refund Schedule for more details.

The Annual Student Dues (ASD) is non-refundable.

Using Brightspace (D2L)

You will receive an email from Brightspace (D2L), the online learning platform, at least one week before the course start date with your login and password. All course materials will be delivered through Brightspace (D2L), where you will have access to course activities, discussion boards and other learning tools.

Examination locations will be posted on the CPA Ontario website approximately one month before the upcoming examination dates.

Examination results are posted on Brightspace (D2L) approximately two weeks after each examination.

Should you experience any difficulty with Brightspace (D2L), please submit a ticket through the CPA Canada Student Support Web Portal. Please include your Candidate ID in the ticket submission.
