Heather J. Kaine, FCPA, FCA
As CIBC’s Senior Vice-President and Deputy Controller, Heather Kaine was the finance lead in the integration of the bank’s US$5-billion acquisition of The PrivateBank. The purchase is the largest in CIBC’s history and will allow the bank to create a strong cross-border platform to serve a broader range of clients and deliver growth to shareholders. Over the past two years, Heather has also led the transformation of CIBC’s finance group as it merged decentralized finance functions into Centres of Excellence. Prior to joining CIBC in 2014, she was an Audit Partner with KPMG’s financial services audit practice. Heather also sits on the Finance and Audit Committee of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation.
Gary S. Katz, FCPA, FCA
Gary Katz is a Partner of Logan Katz LLP, an Ottawa public accounting firm, which he co-founded in 1994. Gary presently manages the firm, along with four other partners, and employs 40 staff. Gary’s practice focuses on taxation and advisory services, including cross-border matters, for owners/managers across a variety of industries. Gary serves on the boards of the National Capital Region YM/YWCA and Glebe Centre for Long Term Care. Since 2003, he has served on the board of AGN International, a worldwide association of separate and independent accounting and consulting firms, including a five-year term as an executive board member of the North American division. Pascale Lapointe-Antunes, FCPA, FCA
Pascale Lapointe-Antunes is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the Goodman School of Business at Brock University in St. Catharines. Goodman’s Accounting program was the first in Ontario to receive CPA accreditation and Pascale was actively involved in the development of the accredited program. Pascale is a well-loved and dedicated instructor who has mentored hundreds of candidates to attain the level of knowledge necessary to become successful professional accountants. Pascale volunteers for CPA Ontario’s Case Development Working Group and the CPA Accreditation Review Team, and sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA). In September 2016, Pascale was named Editor-in-Chief of Accounting Perspectives, a peer-reviewed academic journal published four times a year by the CAAA.
Bruce J. Leboff, FCPA, FCA
Managing Director of Client Wealth Management at Gluskin Sheff + Associates, Bruce Leboff, is responsible for advising and recommending investment portfolios for high net-worth clients. His team collectively manages $1.8 billion of the firm’s total $8.9 billion of assets under management. Bruce has served on the Board, including terms as Chair and Senior Vice-Chair, of the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto. The UJA’s mission is to preserve and strengthen the quality of Jewish life in Toronto and around the world. Cathy Logue is Managing Director of the Toronto office of Stanton Chase, a leading global executive search firm. Cathy launched the Toronto office after founding Ambit Search, a boutique firm specializing in financial professionals. Cathy leverages her CPA background as Global Leader of the Stanton Chase CFO & Financial Executives Practice, and also plays a leadership role in the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion practice. Bonnie Lysyk, FCPA, FCA

Kerrie D. MacPherson, FCPA, FCA
Kerrie MacPherson is a Principal with EY in New York City, where she leads the global team that provides services to a large financial services organization. Passionate about supporting women in the workplace, Kerrie led the team that established "Power. Presence. Purpose", a program for select female senior managers in EY’s Advisory business in Canada and the United States, and serves as Executive Sponsor for the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women program, which she helped develop. She also co-chairs the governance committee of City Harvest and serves on the Executive Committee. Her work in business and the community has garnered several awards, including the National Association for Female Executives’ Corporate Women’s Champion Award in 2014.
Massimo Marinelli, FCPA, FCA
Massimo Marinelli is the Assurance Managing Partner, Canada, at EY. He leads EY’s largest service line of over 1,700 professionals providing a range of services, such as audit, financial accounting and advisory services, and fraud investigation and dispute services. Massimo chairs the EY Canadian Directors Network, a select group of directors from leading Canadian companies. He currently volunteers on the Accounting & Finance Advisory Council at the Ted Rogers School of Management, where he helps students through networking events, judges case competitions and speaks at lunches, galas and dinners. Massimo was also the past Chair of the Audit Committee for the Heart and Stroke Association of Ontario and the volunteer Treasurer of Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario.
Susan J. McMillan, FCPA, FCGA
As the Territorial Commander of The Salvation Army in Canada and Bermuda, Susan McMillan leads a faith-based charity with $700 million in annual revenue and over 700 programs, including churches, long-term care facilities, shelters, addictions rehabilitation centres, thrift stores, a hospital and a university college. Since 1979, she has climbed the ranks of the charitable organization and, under her leadership, the Salvation Army is now one of only 223 charities in Canada to earn Imagine Canada’s Standards Program accreditation. On top of her senior administrative responsibilities with The Salvation Army, she is called upon to preach at denominational events and Sunday worship services across Canada and Bermuda on a frequent basis and, at times, in other countries.
Janet Mrenica, FCPA, FCMA
Janet Mrenica is the Director, Program Compliance, Community Infrastructure Branch, Regional Operations Sector of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada. She serves on several boards and organizations, including as the co-lead with the Federal Government Treasury Board Secretariat’s Policy on Internal Control Working Group and with the Financial Management Institute – Capital Chapter, where she was the first President to serve a three-year term. Janet also volunteers for community and charitable organizations, including: the Canadian Organic Growers – Ottawa, St. Lawrence, Outaouais Chapter; the Federal Public Service Women’s Executive Network; the Famous 5 Ottawa Committee; and the Lanark-Renfrew Women’s Missionary Society, Presbyterian Church of Canada. In 2015, she received a CPA Canada Innovation Award of Excellence in Public Sector Financial Management.
Alice A. Murphy, FCPA, FCA
Alice Murphy’s career is filled with accomplishments in both the business and political sectors. Now Managing Director of BHT Asset Management, focused on property investment, development, management and exit strategy, Alice’s professional experience saw her as the CFO of Harry Winston and Wahta Mohawks, and Vice-President at PwC. From 2010 to 2014, she served as the Mayor of the Township of Muskoka Lakes, District Councillor of the District of Muskoka and Chair of the District Finance Committee. Alice is a past Board Chair at St. Michael’s College School and Board Finance Member at Toronto French School and is currently President of a community ratepayers’ association. She maintains an ongoing finance and governance advisory capacity to various organizations.
