Securexam

Securexam is the required "lockdown" software used for examinations.


Platform

Securexam is certified to run on PC-based laptop computers only. This means that Apple/iOS products and tablets (iOS, Windows, Android) are not allowed, even if they have a Windows operating system.

Securexam will only run on Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10.

If you are using a computer belonging to your employer, please check with your IT department first as they may be installing Securexam for you.


System Requirements

  • 1 GB of RAM minimum
  • 100 MB of free hard drive space (required to run application)
  • A free USB port


Installing Securexam

You will receive a welcome email from Securexam prior to your examination date. At this time, follow the instructions in the guides below to install the software (if not already on your laptop):

Once installed, an icon will appear on your desktop with the latest version. Follow the instructions in the guides above to test the software, upload your test (Qualification Exam) and get approval for use of Securexam.

Updates

Securexam is updated periodically. CPA Ontario will notify you via Brightspace when updates are required. Be sure to update the software as required to avoid delays or issues during examinations. You are required to download exam files prior to your examination date.
