Accounting Firms in Ontario

CPA Ontario members who wish to engage in public accounting or provide accounting services to the public must do this through a registered firm.

You can provide accounting services to the public or engage in public accounting on a full-time, part-time, subcontract or consulting basis.

Learn more on how to set up a firm, apply for a public accounting licence and understand firm practice inspections. If you have a registered firm, your Firm Representative will need to keep CPA Ontario updated of any changes and pay your annual practitioner due and fees. You must also maintain professional liability insurance.

CPA logo usage

If you're a registered firm in good standing with CPA Ontario, you can use the CPA logo certification mark. Its use must be in compliance with our intellectual property licensing requirements. If you're a firm representative or an appointed delegate, request the CPA Logo License Agreement through My Portal, click on Firm Dashboard, find CPA Ontario Logos tile and click on View All.
