Tax Preparation Assistance Program
2017 Tax Preparation Assistance program
Each year since 1969, hundreds of volunteer Chartered Professional Accountants (CPAs) prepare personal tax returns for thousands of low-income individuals in their communities, free of charge.
CPA Ontario's Tax Preparation Assistance sessions are held across Ontario from mid-February until the end of April .
To qualify for this tax return assistance, total household income must be below $40,000 with dependents or below $30,000 without dependents. Individuals with rental income and/or business income do not qualify for the CPA Tax Preparation Assistance program, regardless of the amount of income. Nor do we prepare returns for clients who have passed away.
The CPA Tax Preparation Assistance programs operate in co-operation with a variety of agencies across the province including food banks, charities, hospitals, senior centres and homes, community centres, social service agencies and libraries.
