The CFO as Navigator

Wednesday, October 26 - Friday, October 28, 2016

The 21st Century CFO is hearing the new call from the corporate boardroom: “Step out and go beyond the box!”. Long gone are the days when the CFO was primarily focused in the traditional box of accounting and control, financial and management reporting. While some Fortune 500 firms can afford the luxury of “silo” roles, many organizations now require CFOs to not only understand and appreciate the non-financial parts of the business, some are entrusting the CFO with key responsibilities of information management and corporate strategy.

Program Description (+)

The CFO as Navigator program is dedicated to providing you breadth and depth in key areas such as dashboards, performance metrics and process maps, information management and business intelligence, platform design and creation, corporate strategy, talent management, and incentive design. The program is designed to make you a complete CFO. It is not meant to convert you to the VP of Human Resources or the Chief Information Officer, but to provide you with enough depth to either manage these functions, or to communicate effectively to those counterparts, with knowledge and confidence.

Please note: This program is geared particularly towards those in mid-cap, for-profit companies who have a responsibility to manage multiple functions in an organization.

Who Should Attend (+)

Are you curious about understanding and driving key business metrics in your enterprise? Do you wish to appreciate the roles of HR and CIO in your organization and add value? Are you interested in improving your knowledge about these two functions? Are you involved in strategy development and concerned about its successful execution? Do you provide the Board and external shareholders/stakeholders with business performance and KPI analysis?

Are you considering a CEO position and feel that you only know finance/accounting and need a broader knowledge base? Do you feel uncomfortable communicating with your IT department? Are you interested in learning about new tools and methods to add value to your enterprise? Do you want to go beyond the stovepipe finance function? Do you have a desire to do more and be a complete CFO? If so, then this program is for you.

Please note: This program is geared particularly towards those in mid-cap, for-profit companies who have a responsibility to manage multiple functions in an organization.

Here is what some had to say about The CFO as Navigator:

  • This course provided substantive strategy materials/info that other courses marketed but do not deliver.
  • The course has given me confidence in changes I would like to make in my organization and evidence of why it is necessary.
  • Provided me with networking opportunities, resources to draw upon, and added credibility to my sales pitch for change.
  • The course connected many dots which typically result in communication or execution breakdowns.
  • Allowed me to gain insights into today’s best practices. I feel more comfortable now thinking of strategy and how best to proceed with my navigation.
  • Quality of information and discussions was high (and appreciated). Return on my investment was high!
  • A super overview of various topics. Extremely knowledgeable instructor and super networking opportunities. A good mix of topics.
  • Course was inspiring to help me get back into being a leader and out of the gutters.
  • Vijay’s experience and the interactions with other CFOs stimulate ideas and further discussions that you can take back with you.
  • Vijay is an excellent seminar leader. His use of real life examples and his anecdotal approach make him one of the best seminar leaders I have had.
